FYI: Museum of the Bible

The Museum of the Bible is an eight story educational museum as of this writing currently still under construction in Washington D.C. documenting the narrative, history and impact of the Bible. The museum will open on November 17, 2017. It will provide guests with an immersive and personalized non-sectarian experience.

Museum of the Bible will be an unparalleled experience, using cutting-edge technology to bring the Bible to life. It will span time, space, and cultures, inviting everyone to engage with the Bible. With three permanent sections and space for temporary exhibits, there will always be something new to consider.

The president of the Museum of the Bible, Cary Summers noted, "Our goal is straightforward: reacquaint the world with the book that helped make it, and let the visitor come to their own conclusions. The Museum of the Bible is a global education institution that invites all people to engage in the Bible. We don’t exist to tell people what to believe about it" (We'll see. The Museum Collections are an aggregation of several of the world’s most prominent private collections of biblical objects and artifacts. These collections allow the Museum of the Bible to convey the global impact and compelling history of the Bible in a unique and powerful way. The Museum Collections contain thousands of donated items as well as artifacts and rare books under long-term agreement with the Green Collection, National Christian Foundation, and others.

Guests will be able to experience these collections year-round when the museum opens its 430,000-square-foot building next month. Here is a digital overview.
